It’s light work for Tokio’s idol hands

-

BRITAIN’S Got Talent 2017 winner Tokio Myers has had his piano playing hands insured for €1million – with a clause preventing him lifting drink cups backstage at his gigs.

The pianist – whose fingers are worth €100,000 each – had a handy helper with him at the Royal Albert Hall ahead of his performance at the Classic Brits awards.

Tokio, 34, acquired the insurance last year after winning BGT, but was shocked at the impact it had on his life.

“There are a lot of things I can’t do these days,” he tells 3am.

“I wanted to do things like skiing, snowboarding, watersports – and jumping out of a plane.

“It sounds really crazy, but I’m not allowed to do this stuff.

“I don’t even think I’m meant to lift my own glass for a drink – that’s on my insurance too.”

An aid accompanied Tokio at all times ahead of him collecting the Breakthrough Artist of the Year Brit award which, presumably, they then held for him. Tokio has even been reprimanded for assisting the stagehands at his concerts after shifting heavy equipment around at Glastonbury festival.

“I used to move my own piano around, but I can’t do anything now other than play and rehearse,” he sighs.

“What am I allowed to do now? Play the gigs.”

Tokio isn’t the first star to insure parts of his body –

Dolly Parton’s 40DD breasts are reportedly worth a cool €4.3million, while Rolling Stones guitarist Keith

Richards’ guitar-playing hands are insured for over €1million too.

If Bruce Springsteen loses his voice, Lloyd’s of London have that covered for €4million, while the late comedian Ken Dodd’s teeth were worth €4.6million.

But Jennifer Lopez insists that, contrary to reports, her buttocks are not assured for €1million.
