HE’S A FLOORED GENIUS
Mexico boss blasts ‘fake fouls’ and ‘acting’ that marred a brilliant Neymar show
NEYMAR might be the only one of the ‘Big Three’ left – but he is ready to show he is the World Cup King.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have already departed the tournament, leaving the stage to the Brazil star.
Sadly though, even on a day when the mesmeric Neymar dazzled with the ball at his feet, he left a sour taste in the mouth that suggests he has a long road to travel to be in the class of the world’s top two players.
For it is hard for fans everywhere to love him when he tarnishes his brilliance with the kind of show-pony theatrics which marred an otherwise sparkling show from the Paris Saint-germain forward.
The worst came when he writhed on the ground after Mexico sub Miguel Layun trod on his ankle while retrieving the ball during a touchline clash in front of the Brazil bench. Mexico boss Juan Carlos Osorio was not impressed effectively branding Neymar a cheat for “fake fouls” even though he did not call him out by name.
Osorio raged: “We had 53 per cent possession, but unfortunately we wasted a lot of time because of one particular player. I think this is a shame for football. We lost time because of the referee. He gave too many fake fouls.
“There were too many stoppages. That’s a negative example for football and children who watch it. It’s a man’s sport – there shouldn’t be so much
WAS HE TRODDEN ON... OR TASERED?
