Asia abuse claims huge Metoo blow
PREVIOUSLY unheard of in these shores before accusing Harvey Weinstein of rape, Asia Argento became the poster girl for the Metoo movement.
Refusing to cower to the media mogul’s bully boy tactics, she stood defiantly proud in helping thousands of women around the world come forward about their experiences of abuse.
But now the actress, the girlfriend of late chef Anthony Bourdain, has become an embarrassment to the cause she helped spark.
For the 42-year-old has been accused of not only being a victim but an abuser herself.
She is alleged to have sexually assaulted actor and musician Jimmy Bennett when he was 17 and under California’s age of consent.
SHAME
To avoid any shame she later paid him €330,000 to keep quiet from the pockets of millionaire Bourdain.
This week actor Rose Mcgowan, one of the leading voices of the Metoo movement, called on her to “do the right thing”.
She also claimed the Italian had been receiving unsolicited nude photos from Bennett since he was 12 years old.
One picture has already emerged of the pair naked in bed together when he was 17.
After an initial silence, Argento stated Bennett, 22, was a liar, saying they never had a sexual relationship.
She even insinuated he had essentially tried to blackmail Bourdain because he knew he was “a man of great perceived wealth”.
Imagine if the men accused tried such an attack. Metoo? Sounds to me more like Metwofaced.
