BECKHAM: Marriage to Victoria is always hard work
Footie ace tells of ‘hard work’ of life with posh
ON WHAT MAKES RELATIONSHIPS WORK
DAVID Beckham has opened up on the “hard work” of his increasingly “complicated” marriage to Posh.
The couple have been wed for 19 years but continue to be dogged by rumours that their relationship is far from rosy.
In a candid chat, Becks said: “To have been married the amount of time we have, it’s always hard work. It becomes a little more complicated.”
On what makes relationships work, he added: “Sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. I’ve noticed with my children.”
The former England football ace, 43, was interviewed by The Sunday Project, a show on Channel 10 in Australia.
He went on to tease that he only has “one regret” in life – but fans will have to watch the full show to learn what it is.
David’s interview comes after Victoria spoke of their marriage last month during a family shoot with kids Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven, for British Vogue. The former Spice Girl, 44, said: “People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal.
“But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that’s unfair.” Referring to how their relationship works, she added: “We both realise we are stronger together than we are as individuals. “Would either of us be in the position we are in now had we not met and been together all those years ago? It’s all about the family unit.
“We are much stronger the six of us, than we would be if we were individuals.”
In June, social media was awash with rumours that the pair were about to divorce. The topic was even trending on Facebook and Twitter.
But a spokeswoman for the couple slammed it as nothing more than “Chinese whispers and fake social media news”, adding: “It’s a crock of s***.”
