School pays the Price29 for X Factor brothers

Sean and Conor vow to stay away from drink & drugs but may quit lessons for pop career

X FACTOR brothers Sean and Conor Price insist they will stay away from a hellraiser rock’n’roll lifestyle – but said they are considering leaving school.

The teenagers from Blessington, Co Wicklow, appeared on the talent show last year and have been juggling lessons with the world of showbiz ever since.

Speaking ahead of the release of their new mini album Dreamer today, Sean, 19, who finished his Leaving Cert in the summer, said they won’t be falling down the slippery slope of drink and drugs.

He told Irish Daily Mirror: “I think we have unbelievable support for our parents. Even when we were busking they were standing on the street with us. X Factor and on tour they were there with us.

“And I think Conor and I have both got a good head on our shoulders. We know we put things into perspective and we sort of know music is our main goal and we don’t get caught up in anything else.”

The brothers added they are prepared to put their studies on hold for their careers.

Sean said: “Yeah, definitely, like this 12 months we are just focusing on music because Conor is in transition year and I am finished secondary school.

“That’s the dream so hopefully become a long-term career.

Conor, 16, who has just completed his Junior Cert, said he would prefer to finish school and get his qualifications.

But he added: “Only if things were to blow up, then I wouldn’t go back to school.”

The pair admitted fame comes with a price and not only is there no time for romance but they also missed out on the post-exam celebrations.

However, they don’t feel they have been short-changed.

Sean said: “We recognise this is an amazing platform we have been given from the X Factor and we love making music and we love performing.

“So it is a different experience but I don’t think we are missing out on anything and we are gaining a lot.

“Music is definitely our goal but before the X Factor it was just a hobby. The X Factor has allowed us to take it on as a career.

“But we are only young and we are focused on the music for now and hoping it all goes well and goes to plan.” it does
