Poch: We can’t be compared to City.. they’re on another level
MAURICIO POCHETTINO admits title rivals Man City are “on another level”.
Tottenham tackle Pep Guardiola’s champions on Monday night at Wembley, but Pochettino effectively accepted his side have no chance of dethroning them in May.
The Spurs boss (right) said: “Manchester City is on another level, it is difficult to compare us with Manchester City.
“They won the Premier League last season, they showed they were the best, they are in a different level to us.
“We want to achieve and reach this level in a different way. In the moment the club settles into the new stadium it will be easy to push the team and the club in a similar level that Manchester City is at.
“I think, for me, they are the best team today in England.”
Pochettino, who expects to have fitagain Dele Alli ready to face City, gave a passionate defence of his under-fire keeper Hugo Lloris after his red card blunder at PSV Eindhoven.
Pochettino added: “You need to be brave and love the risk. That’s why I respect a lot the keepers.”
Tottenham will continue to play their home games at Wembley up to and including the game against Wolves on December
29.
