Resident fury at burglary spree
A SPATE of burglaries have prompted shopkeepers and residents to demand their local Garda station be reopened.
A number of premises in Stepaside, South Dublin, were burgled on Monday night and a sum of cash was taken from two of them.
One local said: “This is disgraceful. Three shops in Stepaside Village broke into last night. Now you know why it’s so important that our station is reopened.”
Following the raids Transport Minister Shane Ross tweeted: “And they wonder why we need a Garda station 24/7. Reopening cannot come soon enough.”
