Grenfell mum ‘bath rescue’

-

A FAMILY trapped in Grenfell Tower for nearly four hours after the inferno began put out flames in the kitchen with bathwater.

Natasha Elcock made at least 12 calls to 999 who finally told her, Anthony Smith and her six-year-old daughter to “run for it”.

She told the inquiry into the fire that killed 72 on June 14 last year: “Anthony was putting the flames out with water from the bath.”

Fire crews rescued them from the 11th floor of the West London block.
