EU move will make it easier to shop online
IRISH people will soon be able to shop online in the EU without being prevented by geo-blocking.
The practice of using territorial licensing restrictions to stop customers in one country from accessing websites in another will end next month.
Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune said: “As of December 3, Europeans will be able to shop online without unjustified geoblocking wherever they are in the EU.
“Citizens will be able to compare parcel delivery costs more easily and benefit from more affordable prices for crossborder parcel delivery.”
