DIY disasters climb ladder to top place

TAKING a chunk out of the wall, falling off ladders and getting feet stuck in a paint buckets are some of the DIY disasters we have found ourselves in.

Research conducted by Hardware Association Ireland revealed the most common failure involves flatpack assembly.

Spokesperson Annemarie Harte said: “We may be a nation of Diyers, but it’s really great to see we are a nation of tryers too.

“If people want to avoid DIY disasters the easiest thing to do is drop into their local hardware store for advice on the job before they start.”
