Trial resumes in Regency murder case
Patrick Hutch THE trial of Patrick Hutch for murder will resume next month.
The Special Criminal Court was yesterday told a report into the death of Det Supt Colm Fox, who died from a gunshot wound at Ballymun Garda station, is complete.
Hutch, of Champion Avenue in Dublin, denies murdering David Byrne, 34, during a boxing weighin at the city’s Regency Hotel on February 5, 2015.
The 25-year-old also denies possession of weapons on the same day.
The trial was adjourned following the sudden death of chief investigator Det Supt Fox.
Three notes written by the officer had been given to the three-judge panel at a previous hearing.
