Nurses deserve hike in wages

THE Finance Minister’s dismissal of nurses’ pay claim is an insult to staff who keeping the HSE from collapse.

Knowing medics have been angered by his refusal to meet the INMO, Paschal Donohoe went on television to be interviewed by a former Fine Gael minister.

His claim that nurses cannot be treated differently from other civil servants is a joke.

A failure to invest in nursing will impact the public’s health in the long-term.

If nurses take industrial action they will have public’s support while the Government will be blamed for failing to prevent it.
