Hazelnuts for healthy brain
EATING a handful of hazelnuts a day helps the elderly fend off Alzheimer’s disease, a study claims.
Scientists said the food contains magnesium and vitamin E, which stave off age-related mental decline.
Tests on over-55s eating 24 hazlenuts daily for 16 weeks found raised levels of both in blood and urine.
Professor Maret Traber, of Oregon State University, said: “People don’t like multivitamins but hazelnuts represent a multivitamin in a natural form.”
