ROGER’S SHOE SUPPORT
JOCKEY Kieran Shoemark’s boss Roger Charlton has vowed to “do my best” to support the rider when he returns from a drugs ban.
Shoemark is believed to have tested positive for cocaine and has not ridden since November 24.
Under the BHA’S medical protocols, the 22-year-old has been handed an interim suspension until December 28 but the guideline for an offence of this type is a six-month ban.
“It came as a big surprise to me and
I think it’s a huge waste of a very talented jockey,” said Charlton.
”I shall certainly do my best to help him and the Professional Jockeys Association have also been very supportive.”
Shoemark (left) suffered a major setback to his career when he suffered serious injury at Lingfield in June.
But he bounced back to win a Group race on the Charlton-trained Projection at Ascot.
