Dancing Pete

-

IRELAND hero Peter Stringer is swapping the rugby ball for the Glitterball on Dancing With The Stars.

The ex-player joined country singer Cliona Hagan and The Young Offenders’ Demi Isaac Oviawe on The Late Late Show last night to confirm they will take the final slots in the new series.

Stringer, 40, follows in the footsteps of Munster and Ireland legend Tomas O’leary, who was in last year’s cast.

Admitting to some pre-show jitters, Stringer said: “I’ve never danced on a dance floor before so going from that to dancing in front of a live audience will be a whole new experience for me.

“I’m nervous but up for the challenge.”

Hagan also revealed her joy at swapping the stage for the dancefloor.

She said: “I’m very excited, nervous, and a little apprehensive but overall I’m feeling great and can’t wait to see how far I can push myself.”

And Oviawe told how she is hoping to inspire other young black women during her dancing debut.

She said: “I’m so excited to be involved in this year’s show. I’m hoping I can be a role model for young black women in Ireland and maybe some might even follow in my dance steps.”
