GLENDA Gilson has opened up about her baby son Bobby’s surprise arrival.

The 37-year-old TV presenter became a mum for the first time in October and admitted the birth didn’t quite go to plan.

The Dublin model and husband Rob Mcnaughton were shocked when Glenda went into labour weeks before her due date.

Luckily, they happened to be in hospital for an appointment at the time.

Speaking to Irish Country Magazine, Xpose presenter Glenda said: “Bobby came two weeks early. I was literally only taking my time off from work and I went to see my doctor for a check-up and my waters broke in the clinic.

“I was in the right place at least.”

She returned to work just a month after Bobby was born, as filming for Ireland’s Got Mor Talent kicked off auditions in November. The host explained she had agreed to return to the show even before her son was born early.

Glenda added: “The producers asked me to come back this year and I really wanted to. They were so good, they said they’d help with anything I need and they looked after me.

“Yes, Bobby was just over a month old but I had my mom and Rob looking after him and I had him at work at times so it was perfect.”

Now filming has wrapped on IGT until later this year, Glenda is taking time for maternity leave.

After going through a tough pregnancy, she calls little Bobby a “little miracle”.

She said: “Myself and Rob are still looking at him in awe. We feel so blessed.

“Poor Yas, our dog, is still trying to get used to the situation.”

Revealing the inspiration behind his name, Glenda added: “Rob’s mates call him Bobby Mac and I always thought it was gorgeous.”
