BREN COOLS IZZY FEAR
BRENDAN RODGERS revealed last night that Emilio Izzaguire’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared.
The Honduran was carried off on a stretcher after a horror tackle by Hibs’ Darnell Johnson late in the game.
But with Kieran Tierney already out, Rodgers (left) said that his stand-in should be fit again shortly.
He added: “It was a clumsy challenge on him. The medical team tell me they think he’s got away with it, little bit sore but should be fine in a few days.”
The Hoops manager was delighted with the performance of his other full back on the night – on-loan Dortmund defender Jeremy Toljan.
Rodgers said: “He’s a really good player. You can see his talent. Great assist for the first goal, good energy and very composed. I thought he was excellent and he’s only going to get better once his fitness improves.
“It was a controlled performance. We scored a very good first goal and in the second-half we organised the game well. It was a great three points for us and a very good team performance.”
