600 patients left on trolleys
NEARLY 600 patients were left on trolleys yesterday as the health service was branded “too small” to meet the needs of the country.
The Irish Nurses’ and Midwives’ Organisation released its latest Trolley Watch figures yesterday.
A total of 596 people were waiting for hospital beds yesterday, with 422 left on trolleys or chairs in A&E.
An INMO spokesman told the Irish Mirror: “These figures back up what we’ve been saying throughout this whole dispute, which is the health service capacity needs to expand.
“Until you get the staff, unfortunately, this will continue.”
