Firms call for Leo to delay tax scheme
Leo Varadkar BUSINESS leaders have sent a signed letter to Leo Varadkar raising concerns about import VAT.
The Irish Exporters Association published the joint industry memo last week.
The letter called on the State to put in place a deferral of accounting by three months.
It said: “Although such a scheme is necessary even in an agreed Brexit scenario, the urgency is heightened by the growing threat in the event of a no-deal Brexit.
“We believe introducing a deferral would significantly ease cash flow pressures facing Irish firms.”
The IEA wrote the letter in association with IBEC, ISME, Chambers Ireland and the Irish Tax Institute.
