New fathers to get mental health screening

Partners of pregnant women or new mothers who have anxiety, depression, or more severe mental disorders will be offered a mental health assessment and signposted to support. This will

be part of an expansion of pregnancy mental health services in the NHS long-term plan. An estimated one in 10 men has anxiety and depression in the first six months of a baby’s life.
