Quinn and Gavin meet
NIALL QUINN has described his meeting with the FAI’S Fran Gavin as “very positive”.
Republic of Ireland legend Quinn is trying to drum up support for ambitious proposals to revamp the League of Ireland.
He wants the government on side but ministers want him to get the FAI on board first.
FAI competitions director Gavin has stressed that the association’s priority is striking a deal for clubs to jointly run the league with it from next year.
Quinn said of the talking: “I thought it was very positive.”
He added: “If you just leave the League of Ireland it will never change but if you look at things through the eyes of different people, that will help.”
