Second fire at asylum seeker hotel
A SECOND suspected arson attack on a premises earmarked for asylum seekers has been condemned by Fianna Fail.
The incident at the former Shannon Key West Hotel in Roosky on the Co Roscommon border took place on Monday night.
The first happened on January 10.
Fianna Fail’s Eugene Murphy yesterday called it “worrying and totally unacceptable”.
The Roscommon/ Galway TD added: “A large percentage of people in Roosky have serious reservations about the hotel being used as a centre for asylum seekers but the local residents do not in any way condone this type of illegal activity. They are outraged by this fire.”
