46% to make a meal out of Valentine’s

MORE than two thirds of people plan on celebrating Valentine’s Day this year.

A total of 46% intend to mark the romantic day by going out for dinner,

And just under half plan to splurge between €100 and €150 for the table for two.

The Musgrave Marketplace survey also revealed 60% of the people avoid the date itself and celebrate on the 13th or 15th.

Spokesman Desi Derby said: “This should be good news for restaurants and bars as it allows them to extend the occasion out further and drive more footfall to their premises.”
