GARRY PLAYS WAITING GAME

- BY MICHAEL SCULLY

GARRY RINGROSE will know by the week’s end if he can return for Ireland’s next Six Nations game in Italy on Sunday week. The centre, 24, missed the victory at Murrayfield with a hamstring strain that he suffered in the opening championship loss to England. “Thankfully it’s positive,” said the Leinster star, who launched Gillette’s new Skinguard Sensitive shave range yesterday (left).

“It has responded well to rehab. It’s not something I would’ve done before, a soft tissue injury.

“I didn’t feel like a pop, it was just after sprinting that I felt it.

“It’s really not a severe injury but you wouldn’t want it to be reoccurring or to get worse. I was cautious in getting it rehabbed and over the last 10 days it has responded really well.

“I ran on Monday, it went well – it isn’t any worse which is a positive. We’ll see how it goes over the next week.

“I think there’ll be a judgement call at the end of this week.”
