OLI MASKS HIS AGONY

-

Reading v Blackburn, 8pm NELSON OLIVEIRA is ready to give Reading’s survival hopes a boost by making a comeback from his horrific facial injuries tonight.

Oliveira was left nursing five deep wounds and a nose broken in four places after being stamped on by Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings.

The Portuguese striker posted a selfie on Instagram with the scars barely visible and the caption: “Looking as good as new already”.

Asked if Oliveira could play against Blackburn, his Reading boss Jose Gomes said: “We will see. It takes time so we’ll see how he is.

“He has been doing some work in the gym so if he feels better maybe the doctor will give him permission to train outside with us.”

If he does get on the pitch this evening, Oliveira will wear a face mask to protect his damaged nose.
