‘Sancho’s great.. but stay calm’

ENGLAND have been warned against overhyping Jadon Sancho.

The 18-year-old Three Lions star makes an eagerly-awaited return to his hometown London when Borussia Dortmund face Tottenham.

Sancho was a youngster at Watford and then Manchester City but tonight’s last-16 tie at Wembley will be his first senior club game in England.

All eyes will be on the thrilling winger who has been picked by England boss Gareth Southgate for his senior international side after taking the Bundesliga by storm.

Dortmund team-mate Thomas Delaney said: “Jadon is a big, big talent.

“With talent comes opportunities and he has them for sure.

“But remember, he’s still only 18-years-old. He’s done amazing at the moment, but he’s ahead of where he’s supposed to be.

“He’s a rough diamond... he’ll get there. I feel a little bit responsible for keeping him on the ground,” said the Denmark midfielder.

“England are world famous for hyping your young players and we’re trying to keep him on the ground. No doubt he has a big, big future, but it takes hard work and taking everything seriously.”

Dortmund’s flight to London was delayed by 20 minutes after Sancho had to head back home after forgetting his passport.

They travelled without key men Marco Reus, Julian Weigl, Paco Alcacer and Lukasz Piszczek meaning, like Spurs, they will be far from full strength.
