It’s Operation pregnancy as tearful Jean leaves series
Jean Tierney LEADER Jean Tierney last night left Operation Transformation after learning she was pregnant.
Host Kathryn Thomas travelled to Limerick for an emotional interview with the 33-year-old who previously suffered the agony of losing a child.
Jean, who is seven weeks pregnant, is withdrawing from the rest of the series but viewers are hoping she will be on the catwalk for the finale next month.
During a tearful chat on TV last night, she said: “It is very early. While it is not the norm to be telling people before 12 weeks, we are telling people because there were two options on the programme.
“I could have disappeared from the show but there would have been a lot of speculation or I don’t know what and that would cause me a lot of stress.
“I didn’t feel it was right to hide away or shy away because there is nothing to be ashamed of.
“You almost should have felt ashamed if you’re pregnant or if you have lost a child and we need to change that.”
Expert Aoife Hearne has adapted Jean’s food plan for her pregnancy and has been removed from the exercise plan.
The mum-to-be said: “I’m going to keep following the healthy stuff. I have to keep listening to what the doctors say.”
