Ireland first for 5G after €300m plan
PLANS for a €300million nationwide rollout of highspeed broadband were announced yesterday.
The move will make Ireland the first European country to offer 5G internet.
Telecoms firm Imagine confirmed a total of 155 broadband transmission sites will be live by June.
Imagine’s Sean Bolger said: “As an Irish company, we are delighted to announce this significant investment and a new approach.
“It will finally deliver much-needed fast and reliable high-speed broadband to homes, businesses and communities across regional and rural Ireland.”
