Mumps outbreak among students

NEWS of the planned rollback of BCGS comes during a week when another deadly disease reared its ugly head once again.

An outbreak of mumps was confirmed in Blackrock College, Trinity College Dublin and UCD.

Its re-emergence has been linked to the lower uptake in the Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine.

The diseases can be deadly and all students are being encouraged to get the jab if they didn’t receive it as a child.
