GAA PROPOSE BRAWL BANS

-

in a thrilling encounter and the Central Competitions Control Committee has singled out Small and O Beaglaoich for punishment.

While both players have been proposed for one-match bans, Dublin defender Small’s punishment is doubled as it’s the second time in the space of 12 months that he’s been singled out for a Category III offence following his straight red card in last year’s

Leinster final win over Laois.

It means that, as things stand, he will miss Dublin’s next League outing against Mayo at Croke Park a week from tomorrow as well as the trip to Dr Hyde Park to face Roscommon on March 3.

Kerry corner-back O Beaglaoich will sit out their League tie with Galway in Tuam on February 24.

It’s the third successive season that Ballymun Kickhams man Small has been in hot water for disciplinary reasons having also been sent off in the 2017 All-ireland final against Mayo, albeit for two yellow card offences.

Both players have the option of challenging the proposed suspensions with the Central Hearings Committee while the Kerry and Dublin county boards are expected to be hit with fines as a result of the brawl.
