A LUCKY chef who scooped €4.8million in a Paddy Power online slots game still turned up for work the next day.

Sean Doyle, 33, plans to open a cafe and treat his family after his gigantic win.

He placed just €11 to land the largest online game payout by the betting firm.

Sean said: “You wouldn’t believe the amount of people’s lives I’m going to change with this win.”

CO DOWN YESTERDAY

AN Irish chef who has won a €4.8million jackpot said he is planning to dish out his winnings to loved ones – and open a cafe.

Sean Doyle, 33, from Newcastle, Co Down, said the cash he won on a Paddy Power online slots game this week will make a massive difference to the lives of those he cares about.

Speaking about his windfall, Sean said: “You wouldn’t believe the amount of people’s lives I’m going to change with this win.”

He placed a €11.37 stake on a game called Mars Attacks and struck it lucky when he won the Jackpot King Deluxe at 10pm on Wednesday.

But despite winning €4,859,095.30, the largest online games win in Paddy Power history, he still turned up for work the following day at The Artisan Cookhouse.

Sean describes how he watched in disbelief as the amount of money on his screen began to increase towards the total winning figure.

But he admits he couldn’t bear to wait the 10 seconds it took to hit the €4.8million mark.

Sean said: “I watched it until it reached about €1.1million on the count thing and I switched off my phone. I couldn’t look.

“When I got home I couldn’t believe my eyes after I saw the final amount.

“My sister is a single parent in New Zealand with three kids so I’m delighted because this means I will be able to help her out.

“I also have three brothers, my parents and a few aunts and uncles too.”

Asked if he has any plans to spend a portion of the lump sum on himself, the generous man said: “I’m sure the expected things will come too, after helping the family out.

“I might set up my own shop, probably a cafe, which would mean I can down scale and relax more.”

A spokeswoman for Paddy Power said: “We’re used to being down a few quid after Valentine’s Day but this recordbreaking win takes the biscuit.

“We’re absolutely thrilled for Sean and the fact he was sound enough to turn up for work for his bosses, Alister and his son Cormack Evans, the next morning makes the thought of his success all the sweeter.”

Having scooped the life-changing sum on Mars Attacks, Sean can afford to buy the Red Planet itself – all 176,654 acres of it – which can be bought at price of €27.51 each.

Other possible purchases could include 21 trips to space on the Virgin Galactic or Sean could take Man United’s Alexis Sanchez and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil off their clubs’ hands for a month and have them line out for his local team instead.

Or he could buy the Mistral 55 yacht worth €4million.
