Web passport renewal wins user award

RENEWING your passport online has scooped a top prize.

The Plain English Awards named the online service by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform and the National Disability Authority top for its ease of use and clarity.

The gongs reward organisations that communicate clearly and promote the use of plain English.

Spokeswoman Inez Bailey said: “We developed these awards as we want to create a public preference for organisations that communicate in plain English. Everyone benefits from clear information.”
