SEVEN UP BUT TWO DOWN FOR REDS

- BY BARRY MURPHY

MUNSTER ran in seven tries last night but injuries to Chris Farrell and Jean Kleyn threatened to put a dampener on proceedings.

Farrell limped off in the 18th minutes shortly after he laid on the opening try for Neil Cronin, but even without their centre the Reds ran out easy winners.

Further scores from Andrew Conway, Darren Sweetnam, Billy Holland, Rhys Marshall, Kleyn and Rory Scannell secured the bonus point win for Munster, who stretch their lead at the top of Conference A.

Kleyn (left) picked up an injury when he stretched to score his try and Munster finished with 14 players as a result, but from an Ireland point of view it’s Farrell that’s the big concern.

“I think Chris just tweaked his knee on a carry. We already had it strapped beforehand so it is just precautionary at this stage,” said assistant coach Jerry Flannery. ULSTER ground out an 8-0 win away to Ospreys last night.
