CAR COULD STALL
Waterford Carlow Tonight, Fraher Field, 7pm

ARGUABLY not since the Irish soccer team was at its peak has a draw been celebrated so heartily, but Carlow’s stalemate with Galway two weeks ago is worthy of acclaim.
Here is a county with a very limited club hurling structure managing to share the spoils with one of the game’s major powers and All-ireland champions just 18 months ago.
With the scant resources at boss Colm Bonnar’s disposal, you’d imagine they will hit the wall at some stage but the former Tipperary defender (below) has no choice but to throw everything at this League.
A long-time Waterford resident with a strong association with WIT, Bonnar will be well versed on tonight’s opponents but their exploits against Galway will banish any complacency the home side may have had. Waterford have done everything that has been asked of them so far and while they won’t have it so easy here, Paraic Fanning’s 100 per cent League record as manager will be maintained.
