NEW-LOOK Derry City sent 3,500 fans home happy from the Brandywell after this demolition of newly promoted UCD.

Declan Devine’s side – boasting nine new faces – controlled the play having broken the deadlock in the 21st minute.

Exciting young midfielder Ciaron Harkin played in David Parkhouse and Derry’s on-loan striker from Sheffield United gleefully guided the ball home from close-range.

Derry doubled their lead in the 58th minute when centre back Josh Collins diverted the ball into his own net.

And Derry ended the game as Eoghan Stokes lashed the ball home for a convincing win.
