Ozil still a remainer

- BY JOHN CROSS

MESUT OZIL does not want to be shipped out on loan despite his Arsenal career hitting rock bottom.

The Gunners are desperate to offload the £350,000-a-week midfielder who has fallen out of favour under Unai Emery.

But Ozil, 30, is in no rush to leave and would want a permanent switch if they do force him out.

Arsenal are prepared to subsidise Ozil’s wages, but so far there have been no concrete offers, just interest from China and Inter Milan considering a loan.

Ozil has two years left on his contract but has now missed more games than he has played this season because of illness, a back problem, and a knee injury.

Emery left Ozil at home for the Europa League defeat to BATE Borisov.

The player responded by posting pictures of himself fit and in training with the first team, which is likely to inflame the issue further.
