Double blow for Ole as Martial and Lingard are KO‘D for vital run of matches
MANCHESTER UNITED have suffered a double injury blow with Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard ruled out for up to three weeks.
The pair suffered hamstring injuries towards the end of the first half in the 2-0 defeat by Paris Saint-germain at Old Trafford in midweek. United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said the forwards will be out for two to three weeks, meaning they’ll miss Monday’s
FA Cup tie at Chelsea and the Premier League clash at home to Liverpool a week tomorrow.
Martial and Lingard, who have been in inspired form for United, could also miss league games against Crystal Palace and Southampton as well as the return leg at PSG on March 6.
“Let’s hope they heal quickly, but it looks like they might be out for two or three weeks,” said Solskjaer.
“Anthony and Jesse have done really well for us, they’re vital. But then again, Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez (left) have different skill sets and will be able to show what they can do.”
A plan to give youth prospect Mason Greenwood a run-out has had to be shelved because he is also sidelined.
