GOMES: WE WON’T RELAX

READING boss Jose Gomes has told his Championship strugglers they cannot afford to take it easy now.

The Royals climbed out of the bottom three with victory over Blackburn in midweek.

But they are just one point ahead of Rotherham – who are 22nd – ahead of a daunting trip to Sheffield United today.

And Gomes said: “With our team spirit, we must keep making more steps. We made one step against Blackburn but we must be realistic.

“We cannot think that now it is done and that we are safe. It isn’t enough.

“We have a lot of games in front of us and we have to keep 100 per cent focus on our upcoming matches.”
