TD hits out at welfare firm after collapse
THE privatisation of welfare has been criticised following the collapse of Working Links.
The UK company, which offered services and help with employability, has an Irish subsidiary Turas Nua.
Fianna Fail TD James Lawless claimed: “Aside from the participants, one of the biggest losers as a result of the commercialisation of the scheme has been the Community Employment Schemes which operate in every corner of the State.
“They provide for individuals to work in their own communities and to contribute to their surroundings.”
