60 women will try to come back
UP to 60 jihadi brides are expected to try to return to Britain from Syria with their children following the fall of the Islamic State, reports claim.
London, Luton, Bradford, and Stockport in Greater Manchester have been identified as the most likely locations for “risky” and “highly vulnerable” returnees to live.
More than 900 Britons have travelled from the UK to Syria since the conflict began, according to Home Office figures.
Of these, around 20% have been killed while 40% have already returned to the UK.
Those who come back may be charged under a range of counterterror laws on a case-by-case basis.
The Home Secretary can strip those with dual nationality of their British citizenship to stop them coming back.
But it is against international law to make a person a stateless.
