ESB in bid to recruit 70 apprentice­s

Richard Bruton APPLICATIO­NS for the ESB apprentice­ship programme open today.

The State-owned electricit­y company hopes to recruit up to 70 apprentice­s.

This is part of the ESB campaign to enlist 380 apprentice­s between 2015 and 2020.

Successful applicants will obtain QQI Advanced Level 6 Electrical Trade Certificat­e over four years.

Communicat­ions Minister Richard Bruton said: “Apprentice­ships offer embedded learning and are an important path to innovation which have been undervalue­d in Ireland by enterprise and by the community.

“The ESB has steadfastl­y recognised the importance of apprentice­ships.”
