WORRIED I’M BEING TOO NEEDY

I got divorced last year and I’m now seeing an amazing woman, who I’ve fallen for in a big way. I never thought I’d meet anyone I felt this strongly for again.

My worry is, I text, email and call her a lot, and I’m wondering if it’s too much. My mates all think it’s hilarious that I’m constantly looking at my phone, waiting for her replies, and have suggested I cool it or she’ll think I’m too needy. They said women don’t like it when men are too available and that I need to play “hard to get”.

Should I back off?

I think it’s hilarious that your mates think you need to play hard to get. I think if you started doing that now, it’s going to send out a very confused message and she’ll be wondering why you’re not texting and if she’s done anything to offend you! Stop thinking about game playing and just go with it.

It’s great you’ve found love again and this stage is exciting – it’s completely normal to be desperate for her to reply to your text because you’re thinking about her all the time.

As long as she’s happy and you’re not driving yourself to distraction if she doesn’t reply instantly, then I don’t see what the problem is.
