WILKS LOSS A LOW BLOW

-

DONCASTER boss Grant Mccann claimed his side’s Cup preparations were disrupted by the FA’S late call to ban Mallik Wilks.

The FA informed Doncaster on Saturday night that Wilks, who has scored 11 goals this season, was suspended for picking up two Cup bookings after initially clearing him to play for the League One side.

Mccann said: “It wasn’t ideal to get a phone call on Saturday night. We were led to believe he was OK to play. It disrupted us a bit.

“But that’s not an excuse. We just got beat by a very, very good team.”
