Teen binges ‘warp brain’
TEENS who binge drink may end up with anxiety issues for life because the habit rewires their developing brain, a study claims.
Autopsies on people in their 50s found those who abused alcohol before their 20s had far less of a protein that controls signals in the brain’s “emotion centre”.
Prof Subhash Pandey, of Illinois University, said: “If levels are low, the brain will not develop normally.”
