Appeal after woman killed in road crash

GARDAI have appealed for witnesses after a woman died in a late-night crash.

The single-vehicle incident took place on the Rathangan Road at Allenwood South, Co Kildare, at 11pm on Sunday.

The 52-year-old was the only occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road remained closed yesterday morning as forensics investigated the accident scene.

A Garda spokesman said: “The body of the deceased has been removed Naas General Hospital where a postmortem examination will be carried out.

“The local coroner has been notified.”
