Blood switch vets save life of feline Brian
Kitten Brian Jnr A NEGLECTED kitten has been brought back from the brink of death with an emergency blood transfusion from another cat.
The five-week-old ginger tom was flea-infested and anaemic when RSPCA officers found him living in squalid conditions.
But minutes after vets performed the procedure – using blood from RSPCA officer Sue Taft’s moggy, Brian – the kitten, named Brian Jnr after his saviour, was on the mend.
Sue, from the charity’s Milton Keynes branch, said: “Vets decided his only hope was a blood transfusion so I took my own cat Brian down to help out.
“As soon as the blood went in, the little kitten started to pick up and after a few days he was happy and eating again.”
