FURY BLAMES WILDER AS HE TAKES DUD SCRAP WITH SCHWARZ

- BY MARTIN DOMIN

A BRAZEN Tyson Fury attempted to blame Deontay Wilder for the collapse of their heavyweight rematch after confirming his ring return.

Fury will take on the unbeaten but unknown Tom Schwarz in Las Vegas on June 15 instead of challenging Wilder (below) for a second time.

The rivals fought to a controversial draw last December with Fury twice rising from the canvas.

A rematch was all but signed for May 18 before the Brit threw a spanner in the works by signing a five-fight, £80million deal with US broadcaster ESPN.

Wilder will now defend his world title against Dominic Breazeale a month before Fury’s Sin City debut.

And after promoter Bob Arum admitted the rematch could be delayed until next February, Fury insisted his pleas to Wilder had fallen on deaf ears.

He said: “I have to take care of Schwarz (above), Wilder has to take care of Dominic Breazeale and then I say we get it on. He has gone quiet; I send him messages and he doesn’t reply any more.

“I’m really looking forward to it as it will be my first time in Las Vegas.

“When you start boxing as a kid, you dream of going to America and cracking it.

“I did that with Wilder, and now I’m going back and will be seen by a lot of people around the world.”

Schwarz has knocked out 16 of his 24 opponents but the German’s opposition leaves plenty to be desired.

But Fury added: “I’m very fit and ready, so I can’t wait.

“Tom Schwarz is a young, fresh and ambitious fighter, but I’m going to put on a good show as usual.”
