SHOT DEAD AS HE WALKED HIS BABY

New dad gunned down hours after friend’s body is found

- BY NIALL O’CONNOR, Crime Editor

A MAN was shot dead as he walked his baby son just hours after his pal was murdered in a suspected drug debt attack.

Jordan Davis, 24, was killed in Darndale, North Dublin, at 4pm yesterday while 22-year-old Sean Little was earlier gunned down and found beside a burning car a few miles away in Balbriggan.

It’s suspected they were targeted over a debt to a Kinahan-aligned drug gang. A source said: “They were pals with Zach Parker who was killed this year. He owed €30,000 and so did they.”

TWO friends, close associates of a slain dealer, have been gunned down in apparent gangland hits because of drug debts.

The pair – Sean Little, 22, and 24-year-old Jordan Davis – died just hours apart in trademark executions.

Davis, who was killed yesterday afternoon in North Dublin, was carrying his baby son when he spotted the gunman and ran for his life.

He was blasted to death a short distance away in Marigold Road, Darndale, pursued by the hitman on a bicycle.

Little’s body was found beside a burning car in a laneway near Balbriggan in North Co Dublin on Tuesday night.

A suspected motive for the murders is that both victims owed money to a callous Kinahan-aligned gangland thug who ordered the hits.

A source said: “They were very close pals with Zach Parker. He was shot in January in Swords. He owed money, thought to be €30,000, to a Kinahanlinked gang.

“He was shot because of this drug debt. Sean Little was best friends with him and then Jordan Davis was pals with Little.

“They all lived the high life, going on holidays to Dubai to visit fellow drug gang members hiding there, but they really didn’t understand what they were getting into.”

Firefighters discovered the first murder after they received the call about a burning vehicle. They discovered Little’s body 10ft from his own Opel Insignia.

A source added: “He had massive head injuries – a gunshot to the head and at least one to the chest.

“The theory was he was lured to the country boreen under the impression he was going to meet someone – he wasn’t. He was going to be executed.”

After the horrific discovery, a large group of hooded men arrived at the scene, remonstrated with gardai and shouted abuse at journalists.

At one point a man in a car threw a soft drink at members of the media.

Gardai took the men’s details before they left the area.

An incident room has been set up in Balbriggan Garda station.

Supt Tony Twomey said: “We’re appealing for anyone who may have been in the area between 10pm and 12am last night [Tuesday] who may have seen anything suspicious in that area.

“We’re particularly interested in anyone who may have seen a black Vauxhall Insignia imported. It’s registration is 181 D 467 03.

“If anyone saw that in the area we’d be interested in talking to them. We’d be interested in talking to anyone who may have been on the M1 at that time and who may have seen anything suspicious in that area.

“We do know there was injury to his head and an injury to his chest.

“But the circumstances to that, we’re still trying to establish. That’s for the postmortem to decide.”

The second murder happened in a laneway just feet from a children’s day care centre. Sources told the Irish Mirror Davis was walking with his fivemonth-old baby son and a friend when he spotted a cyclist approaching.

He ran but the gunman pursued him and blasted him to death.

Minutes earlier he had posted a tribute on his Facebook page to his slain friend Little: “Rest in paradise wer a gent.” He posted a picture of Little and himself in a nightclub with two blue hearts, suspected to be the symbol of the Kinahan-aligned gang.

The murder scene was just metres from where innocent father John Lawless was killed in February.

Sources confirmed Davis was aware he was under threat and that in recent weeks had come under attack.

At the scene, one local woman said: “People are living on their nerves around here as it is.

“Our kids go up and down that lane all the time, every day.

“His poor family, his mother, arrived at the scene and was brought into the school – she was in bits.

“It is terrifying here in Darndale – you don’t know what you are coming out to. He had money issues but no one could put a figure on it but he owed money.”

The playschool in the community centre overlooking the scene sent a message to parents minutes after the shooting.

It read: “Dear parents, an incident has occurred close to our centre. All children are safe...”

Justice Minister Charlie Flanagan condemned the shootings and appealed for the public to assist the investigayou tions. He added: An Garda Siochana are now conducting full inquiries into the circumstances surrounding these incidents and I would appeal to anyone who has information which could help to please come forward to them as soon as possible.” Fianna Fail justice spokesman Jim O’callaghan called for immediate action. He said: “Depraved violence of this nature has no place whatsoever in our society.

“The prevalence of gunrelated violence has continued to intensify and it is essential all
