DERRY got back to winning ways thanks to a Ciaron Harkin hat-trick against Donegal neighbours Harps.

The home side dominated but struggled in the final third until they broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute.

Harps wing-back Daniel O’reilly impeded David Parkhouse inside the area and while keeper Peter Burke parried Junior Ogedi-uzokwe’s spot kick, the winger was alert to the rebound to net at the second attempt.

Harkin (above) opened his account with a spectacular free kick on the stroke of half-time.

He grabbed his second in the 66th minute and his hat-trick in the 90th.

ROMEO PARKES scored twice as Bohemians finished with 10 men in an injury-hit clash at Dalymount Park.

Bohs were dealt a blow on eight minutes when striker Dinny Corcoran (right) was taken off with an ankle injury.

Sligo defender Dante Leverock and his keeper Ed Mcginty then collided and the former needed 12 minutes of treatment before also being stretchered off.

Sligo took the lead three minutes into the second half when Parkes broke to drill home off the far post.

The impressive Conor Levingston smacked home a low drive to level but Bohs had captain Derek Pender sent off on 68 minutes before Parkes won it a

minute from time.

ZACK ELBOUZEDI’S cracker secured Waterford a vital victory and sent UCD to their ninth league defeat on the spin.

After Sean Mcdonald spurned a couple of early chances for the Students, Waterford took control.

Bastien Hery woke the quiet crowd on the half-hour by seeing his rising shot deflected over by Josh Collins.

The brother of Manchester United target Nathan again got his body in the way when Cory Galvin looked poised to sidefoot home.

All the pressure told on 36 minutes. Smart build-up on the right between Kevin Feely and Galvin looked to have come to nothing until the deflected cross fell at the feet of Elbouzedi (above) whose low volley fizzed in.
