Greg would be a perfect Fit for TV show
GREG O’shea has revealed his ideal TV role would be as a coach on Ireland’s Fittest Family.
Donncha O’callaghan better watch out because his former Munster Rugby teammate wants to join the hit RTE reality TV show alongside Anna Geary, Davy Fitzgerald and Derval O’rourke.
Greg told The Social Media: “I could really see myself doing Ireland’s Fittest Family.
“Even though it is not as big as your Love Island or your I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! I could still see myself fitting into something like that, so we will see.”
The Limerick man was approached by producers to take up numerous roles after he won Love Island last summer, but he turned down doing more reality TV, because they weren’t the right fit for him.
Greg said: “When I just came out of the villa, I was approached by a lot of people to do various things. I would say it was because I was the winner, and obviously they wanted the winners to do the most work, but I always said I was coming home to Ireland.
“I didn’t think I would be in there for two weeks, let alone win it so I always had in my head I was coming home because I was going for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Rugby is my first love.”
When asked what work he declined, Greg remained coy as he hinted about Dancing With The Stars and Celebrity Jungle.
He said: “I can’t say exactly what it is but it is all the normal ones. It wasn’t for me but maybe for the future.
“I’m trying to find out where my niche is because I obviously am not the normal celebrity – well I wouldn’t call myself a celebrity really – because I have the sports side of things and the law side of things.”
His rugby colleagues have been quick to advise Greg in what to do in the celebrity following his big win on Love Island and now his career with the Ireland 7’s. He said: “I haven’t spoken to Brian [O’driscoll] but people like Peter Stringer got on to me and I was with Paul O’connell this morning.
“The biggest thing they said to me was don’t get ahead of yourself because you’ll be taken down really quickly.”
